Actor Yomi Fabiyi has rejected the suspension placed on him by the Theater Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners’ Association (TAMPAN) over his new movie 'Oko Iyabo'.
TAMPAN was forced to look into the movie after actress Iyabo Ojo and others raised alarm.

The movie allegedly depicts a case involving fellow actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka aka Baba Ijesha who is facing charges of sexual assault of a minor.
Critics say the movie promotes child molestation, rape and underage girls having sexual relationship with adults, allegations which Yomi denies.
However, after TAMPAN announced his suspension, Yomi took to Instagram on Saturday to say he was not a member of TAMPAN and so the association could not suspend him.
He wrote, "I have back to SENDER your malicious letter @tampanglobal I am not a CARD CARRYING MEMBER OF YOUR ASSOCIATION. I was made to show interest and up till now no formal registration done. I challenge you to produce any form I filled with your organisation."
Yomi said that all movie associations in the Yoruba movie industry are voluntary organisations with primary aim to protect interest of members. He also challenged TAMPAN to do soul-searching and see if it is truly committed to protecting members' interest.

"OKO IYABO is a good movie and you have no right to review my movie the way your letter did. It is unfortunate and unacceptable," he added.
He said the association's attempt to gauge his constitutional right of freedom of speech was illegal, adding that the movie would be released on DVD and other platforms in due course.
Yomi said he would discuss with some elders whom he respects in TAMPAN before taking his next step.
Mr Latin is TAMPAN President. Some of the elders in the association include Oga Bello, Jide Kosoko and Adebayo Salami.
