After the Department of State Services declared Sunday Igboho wanted, many traditional monarchs have pleaded with the government on his behalf. One of such prominent rulers is the Oluwo of Iwo.
Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi last Friday wrote a long message to Buhari asking the president to forgive Sunday Igboho. He begged:
‘I appeal to your Excellency to slow down security trail on Sunday Igboho. I promise your Excellency that Igboho will mind his steps henceforth. He has suffered a lot. He would step down his agitations. I will bring him for peace talk at appropriate time.’
Sunday Igboho reacting to this has reportedly replied the monarch. In a message passed across by his spokesman, he said:
‘If any royal father thinks he can negotiate on my behalf, you are wasting your time because I am not backing down. We are close to where we are going.’
This was revealed during the 41th minute of Koiki's recent broadcast.
Koiki also disclosed that Chief Sunday Igboho did not speak with any royal father to speak on his behalf. According to him, his legal team are on his case.
