The agitators of the Yoruba nation defied the warnings of security operatives and came out in Ojota, Lagos to participate in the Yoruba nation rally. Many people thought the rally wouldn't hold due to the presence of security operatives in the early hours of today. The Nigerian government had made it clear that when national security gets threatened, human rights are suspended. The Oodua Nation rally on several occasions had been monitored by security operatives to see that laws and orders are being maintained.
Following the declaration by the president that he wouldn't tolerate any activity carried out by secessionists, security operatives have fastened their seat belts, issued a stern warning, and are now going all out to treat secessionists with an iron fist. The house of Sunday Igboho was reportedly raided by the Department of State Services and uncovered charms, sophisticated weapons, and a traditional bulletproof vest.
Obedience Is Better Than Sacrifice:
These agitators came out in mass to protest but they ended up running for their lives as seen in the photos shared by BBC Pidgin. If oy they had stayed at home, this might not have happened. This is a clear case of to be forewarned, is to before harm and it's also proof that obedience is better than sacrifice.
The police got furious that they defied their warnings, so they went violent at the protesting by dispersing them with water and chasing them. It was more like a case of "temple run" in Ijota, Lagos today.
