The unthinkable continues to unfold before our eyes every day. People committing all kinds of evil because of reasons known to them alone. No wonder the Bible stated that the heart of men is desperately wicked. Sometimes the devil you know is better than the angel you don't know. It's so unbelievable when the people whom we place so much trust on, betray us. We just need to be wary of the applauds of men because some are willing to clap us to our graves.
According to a report reaching our desk from BBC NEWS PIDGIN, the life of a 200-level student of the Niger Delta University, Bayelsa, identified as Jennifer Ugadu, has been allegedly cut short by her boyfriend. She was found lying lifeless in her room at an off-campus hostel of the institution.
It's just so painful that such a young lady who had set up goals to achieve ended up this way, some people are just heartless. According to a report gathered, a bullet which was allegedly used by her killer was discovered in her room.
The roommate of the deceased pointed fingers at Jennifer's boyfriend, who is a soldier. She disclosed that she gave Jennifer's boyfriend the key to Jennifer's apartment because she was about to travel to Yenagoa and Jennifer was yet to resume.
She called Jennifer to inform her that her boyfriend was in their apartment but she said she would not show up because they were not on good terms. She tried reaching Jennifer after some days but all effort proved abortive. She had to call Jennifer's boyfriend and he told her that he had traveled to Maiduguri for a military assignment.
When she got home, she called on her neighbor to help her check her room; and they received the shock of their lives as they found Jennifer lying lifeless, soaked in a pool of blood.
A leaked WhatsApp conversation showed that the killer boastfully said he was ready to die but he would make sure that she dies first.
The leaked WhatsApp conversation reads;
"You are very funny, the day I killed her, I called my mom and told her; her aunt is also aware. I'm also prepared to die because I wanted to commit suicide because of her. But I want her to go with me. So don't trouble yourself because I'm going to die also."
The death of Jennifer Ugadu is so pathetic, nobody deserves to die such a cruel death. I hope whoever is responsible for her death gets unmasked and brought to book.
