Black Axe 7/7: Police arrest four suspected cultists in Lagos

The Lagos State police command said it arrested four persons in connection with the Neo Black Movement of Africa, aka Black Axe annual celebration, ‘7/7’ slated for July 7th.

Police operatives attached to the Area ‘J’, Ajah and Ogombo Division of Lagos arrested the four suspected members of the Aiye Confraternity while on routine Stop and Search duty.

According to the command’s spokesman, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, two of the suspected cultists: Michael Abejoye, 23, and Olalekan Quasim, 43, were arrested at the Eleko Junction, Ajah Area, at 1.30pm, with the regalia of Aiye Confraternity.

Similarly, the police operatives attached to the Ogombo Division arrested two  suspected Aiye Confraternity members –Andoh Emmanuel Kolawole, 25, and Oluwasegun Destiny, 28, on Thursday 8 July, in Ogombo Area of Lagos State.

Items recovered from them include one locally made double-barrel shotgun, seven live cartridges, one expended cartridge and some regalia of the Aiye Confraternity.

“The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered that the suspects be transferred to the command’s Strike Team, Ikeja, for proper investigation and possible prosecution.

He also reiterated the command’s commitment to sustaining its fight against cultism and other forms of criminality in the state.
